Makaay heads Bayern Munich roster vs. Red Bulls
Dutch striker Roy Makaay was among the 14 players Bayern Munich put on its roster for an exhibition game against the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer at Giants Stadium on Saturday.
Makaay scored 17 goals this past season as Bayern Munich won the German Bundesliga with a 22-3-9 record.
Peruvian forward Claudio Pizarro who had 14 goals this past season, two-time German World Cup defender Jens Jeremies and French World Cup defender Bixente Lizarazu also are expected to play in the game, scheduled for noon.
Lizarazu was a teammate of Red Bulls midfielder Youri Djorkaeff on the 1998 French World Cup championship squad.
Also on Bayern Munich's roster are goalkeeper Bernd Dreher, defenders Georg Niedermeier and Stephan Fuerstner, midfielders Sebastian Deisler, Andreas Ottl, Hasan Salihamidzic, Mehmet Scholl, Markus Steinhofer, Rainer Storhas and forward Paulo Guererro.
